You might include Amygdala Hijack as a concept bridging physiological, psychological, emotional and intellectual domains. Daniel Goleman would be a reference.
There is also the concept that mammals are Cognitive Mizers which drives us to simplification.
A simplistic example would be that I no longer have to check the time constantly since I have set an alarm reminder. Or I outsource my physical security to police or body guards.
